A skips and back squats are great and all, but nothing is going to transfer to speed like sprinting.
You want to be fast? Go sprint
You want to be strong? Go sprint
You want juicy hamstrings? Go sprint
You want to jump higher? Go sprint
You want a starting position? Go sprint
You want that scholarship? Go sprint
We are always trying to find weightroom solutions to on field problems.
Sure a better back squat MAY help your speed, but not anywhere close to the level that actually sprinting will help your speed.
Sometimes the best thing you can do to get better at X is actually doing X.
For sprints:
➡️Change up the start positions
➡️Race or chase a partner
➡️Time yourself
➡️Carry odd objects
➡️Rest 30-60 seconds between. ➡️You shouldn’t be breathing hard for the next rep.
Non athletes - sprinting is good for you too😉
