Rent out a video
Sell time-limited access to a video, with a viewing window that starts when the viewer presses play.
Before you start
By the end viewers can rent the video for a set number of days.
Before you start
- You are an owner or accounting manager of the organization.
- Stripe is connected (Connect Stripe to get paid).
Steps
Step 1: Open Manage → Offers and choose New Offer
Open your organization page, choose Manage → Offers, then New Offer. Pick the video under Recording.
Step 2: Choose Rental and set the viewing window
Set Offer Type to Rental and enter the Price. Under Rental Configuration set the Access Duration (how long viewers can watch once they press play) and the Grace period (how many days they have to start).
Step 3: Choose Create Offer
Choose Create Offer. The rental is saved as a Draft until you activate it.
You should see
The offer page shows Rental with the access duration and grace period you set, and a Draft badge.
How it works
A rental has two clocks. The grace period starts at purchase: the viewer must press play within it. The access duration starts at first play: the viewer can watch as often as they like until it runs out. Both are shown to the viewer before they pay.
